RTL temperature control for connection to conventional heating systems
The Kompabox RTL with connection option for a bathroom radiator is used to control the temperature of FLEXIRO underfloor heating, wall heating or ceiling heating in conjunction with conventional heating systems.
These systems require higher flow temperatures of up to 70°C and usually operate with conventional ribbed radiators or radiators made of sheet steel.
The Kompabox RTL includes an additional connection for a bathroom radiator, which can still be operated with the higher flow temperatures of the original heating systems
For a safe operation of the retrofitted underfloor heating, the RTL valve limits the return flow temperature to a maximum of 50°C. Thus, the Kompabox forms the connecting piece between the existing heating system and the underfloor heating. It regulates the temperature in retrofitted rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens completely independently of the existing heating system and ensures a maximum of heating comfort.
RTL - How it works
The temperature is controlled without additional auxiliary energy and can be easily adjusted individually using the supplied return temperature limiter head. It functions as a continuous proportional controller. The change in the indoor air temperature (controlled variable) is proportional to the change in the valve lift (manipulated variable). If the indoor air temperature rises, the temperature in the temperature sensor expands and acts on the corrugated pipe. This throttles or increases the water supply in the underfloor heating circuit by the valve spindle.
The RTL temperature control is a flush-mounted box with frame and fastening rails. A cover plate is included. The integrated supply shut-off means that heating areas can also be shut off individually.
The existing heating pipes are connected to the 3/4" connections of the Kompabox with compression fittings. The FLEXIRO underfloor heating kit is connected completely tool-free via a plugin-system. Installation dimension for the Kompabox in mm (H×W×D) 150×230×60.
