High-quality RTL valve suitable for use with existing conventional heating and radiant heating systems
The Multibox 4K-RTL with RTL valve, flow shut-off and vent valve controls the flow temperature when retrofitting water-carrying underfloor heating, wall heating or ceiling heating and is suitable for connection to all common heating systems. It can be used in conjunction with conventional heating systems requiring flow temperatures of up to 70°C as well with radiant heating systems operated with low flow temperatures.
Additionally to the RTL valve the Multibox contains a thermostat, which allows the integration into a smarthome system. In order to realise this, the existing thermostatic head simply needs to be replaced with a smart home-compatible wireless thermostatic head. The threaded connection must be 30 × 1.5 mm.
RTL valve technology - How it works
For a safe operation of the retrofitted underfloor heating, the RTL Multibox limits the return flow temperature to a maximum of 50°C. Thus, it forms the connecting piece between the existing heating system and the underfloor heating. It regulates the temperature in retrofitted rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens completely independently of the existing heating system and ensures a maximum of heating comfort.
The temperature is controlled without additional auxiliary energy and can be easily adjusted individually using the supplied return temperature limiter head. The head functions as a continuous proportional controller. The change in the indoor air temperature (controlled variable) is proportional to the change in the valve lift (manipulated variable). If the indoor air temperature rises, the temperature expands the sensor and this acts on the corrugated pipe. As a consequence it throttles or increases the water supply in the underfloor heating circuit by the valve spindle.
An integrated vent valve ensures that all gases in the system, especially air, are removed. The RTL Control also contains a regulating spindle with which hydraulic balancing can be carried out.
The RTL Multibox is a flush-mounted box with frame and fastening rails. An included cover plate ensures a valuable look. The integrated supply shut-off means that heating areas can also be shut off individually.
The existing heating pipes are connected to the 3/4" connections of the RTL box with compression fittings. The FLEXIRO underfloor heating is connected completely tool-free via a plugin-system. Installation dimension for the Multibox in mm (H×W×D) 190×240×60.
